Dr. Anirudha Ambekar

I am a faculty member in the School of Mechanical Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology Goa, working in the areas of combustion and thermal sciences. My research is largely application-oriented and focuses on experimental combustion diagnostics and clean combustion.

I completed my doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in July 2015. Following this, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the eXtreme Energy Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Seoul National University.

My research interests include carbon-free fuels (metals, hydrogen, hydrogen carriers, sustainable aviation fuels), interventions to improve efficiency of and curb emissions from combustion sources (additives), and energetic materials (propellants and pyrotechnics). My group has established several laboratory-scale burner systems and other experimental facilities. We are currently engaged in multiple projects on the characterization of flames, fuels, and energetic materials.
